What to expect during your back lift recovery.
Back lift recovery requires some care and patience — particularly in the first week when sleeping positions and movement need to be managed carefully. Here is what to expect at each stage.

Swelling, bruising and tightness across the back is completely normal. Pain is well managed with prescribed medication. You will remain in Istanbul under medical supervision, wearing your compression garment continuously and resting as much as possible. Sleeping on your stomach should be avoided during this period.
1–2. Hafta
Swelling begins to reduce and bruising starts to fade. Most patients feel more comfortable moving around by the end of the first week. You will attend a follow-up appointment with Dr. Orman before returning home. Avoid any activity that places strain on the back area during this period.
2–4. Hafta
Most patients can manage light daily activities and return to desk work from around week 2 to 3. Compression garments continue to be worn. Early results begin to become visible as swelling reduces and the back settles into its new contours.

Strenuous exercise and activities that place significant strain on the back should be avoided until cleared by Dr. Orman, typically around 6 weeks. Results continue to improve as residual swelling resolves and scars begin to fade and soften.

A back lift can address the upper back, lower back or both depending on your specific concerns. The most commonly treated areas are the lower back rolls that sit above the waistline and the upper back rolls that appear beneath the bra line. Dr. Orman will assess your specific concerns during your consultation and recommend the most effective approach.
A back lift does leave scarring but Dr. Orman places incisions as discreetly as possible along the natural lines of the back. Scars are positioned to be concealed beneath clothing and swimwear wherever possible and continue to fade and soften significantly over 12 to 18 months following surgery.
Liposuction removes fat but does not address loose or sagging skin. A back lift removes excess skin and tightens the back area and can include liposuction as part of the same procedure. If you have loose skin on the back alongside fat deposits, a back lift will deliver a far more complete result than liposuction alone.
